So today I stared work at 1pm and finished at 12am. Correct me if I’m wrong, that’s 11 hours? Yeah. Tomorrow was my day off. Why, “was” you ask? I agreed to pull a 3 hour stint during the day because they will have no one, again. I swear, they’re lucky I love my job and I love working.
In other work-related news I have been placed in charge of OHS. Each manager has a duty, so one of our managers does food, one is labor, one of our managers is souly a breakfast manager and I am OHS. And I’m not a manager. How cool is that!? More things that will shine on my resume and more experience in the workplace which I love. I’ve also been told that within the next four months I will be in management training, a big OMG to that. Finally :) The only reason they haven’t done it or aren’t doing it now for that matter is because they can’t take me off drive thru because they need me too much (I’m one of their more relied on/better workers) and they haven’t got anyone to replace the shifts I do. Unsurprisingly I have the most hours out of everyone employed. Winning at life? Winning at life. The day I come to my work in a management uniform is going to be a HUGE moment for me.
So I’m ending the day on a pretty good night despite the 11 hours of work..I’m not particularly tired but in saying that I do realize it is somewhat a false sense of being awake because I’m still in work mode which is go go go. Eating polenta and m&m’s probably isn’t helping me settle. But they is so the yummy!

When “Come On Eileen” by Dexy’s Midnight Runners came on the radio in the kitchen, and Mum not knowing I was within earshot says over the radio to herself and Dad, “ah, it’s Laura’s favorite song.”
Things not going as badly as I thought they would at work knowing I had to work with people I find at present intolerable. Not nearly as badly.

Shopping it up at Northlands today on VIP day and getting things I have wanted for a while and spending some good shopping time with Nathan and Skyler and Jarryd; also showering my goddaughter with new shoes (she’s only just learnt how to walk in shoes) and a formal coat. And Jarryd a new hoodie, because that boy could never have enough hoodies.
Knowing things are good.

tonight was amazing.
ive never felt more content or at peace with things in my head ever in my life before. the people i know are beautiful, amazing. i only hope that nothing breaks this three way bond. i love them so much. i love my life and my family. im pretty sure i love me too. damnit i just feel so content, almost relieved that I’ve realized all this. i love it all. all the little hiccups and speed bumps are so insignificant when one night of the right combination of people can leave you feeling this happy.
